Hey Everyone:
Listened to a lot of groups this week
I think I’m gonna have to give this one to Hillsong United. They earned it for sure. Their new album dropped last week and the passion behind every single song is ridiculous. Look forward to more from these guys (And girls).
Also heard this week:
Lights
The Black and Whites
Editors
Pernice Brothers
Sunset Rubdown
Taxi Taxi!
and Nickasaur!
Btw owl city released a new one this week… It’s good :)
The past two days have been very good for me. Yesterday, I got to sleep in a little!!
While we were cleaning the house for a party today we found a Nintendo Wii in a drawer that my dad got 4 months ago and didn’t tell us about… ya, I know. Anyways, I have a Wii now. It’s pretty cool, I PWN at Wii Tennis. If you don’t know what PWN means it is computer ner/cool kid talk for totally dominate or annihilate or similar verbs.
Yesterday we also had a run-through of a the contemporary worship service at my church ( iconnect2.com ) which I lead today! It was very cool, but there were MANY soundboard issues. Luckily they were all resolved by today.
Last night my parents and I went to a dinner/auction for my church. We were raising money for the mission station in Liberia that I will be going to live in for 6 months next spring/summer. We got a lot of good items at the auction to help out the cause! Tops of my list was this awesome Pendleton wool blanket that looks native american!! I also got a one-of-a-kind cornhole game! (For those of you who don’t know what cornhole is… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornhole ) It’s totally awesome.
This is a pretty long post but hey! It’s my blog and you managed to make it this far, let’s keep rollin’!
I’ll make today quick:
1. I led worship at church this morning-It was incredible!
2. My sister got confirmed-Also awesome!
3. Confirmation party = wii + cornhole + food!!!!
4. Band practice-YAY!!! We play again on the 14th!!!
5. Youth group-Led by my good friend Dana who did here senior project with our youth pastor. It was great!
6. Come home-play wii tennis for 1.5 hours
Good day…
Good Luck-TFB
Well as you know if you have read my previous posts, I love being outside. So, naturally today when the humidity was like 82547% and the sun could not be seen and it was above 80 degrees Fahrenheit, I was preparing for the ultimate, perfect storm. It happened. For a glorious 45 minutes the Eastern Suburbs of northeast Ohio were bombarded with torrential downpours and multiple lightning storms…. AWESOME!! I was over at my best friends house just chillin’ after school when we saw the storm begin to hit! After closing my windows and my sunroof in a very panicked manor, we proceeded to go totally nuts in the pouring rain. I have decided that very few things are that bad if you simply embrace them and rain is definitely one of them! We had soooo much fun and we were SOAKED!!! We continued to run about a block or two down the main road to the nearest park where we ran around on the flooded tennis courts and went down to the flooded stream. Still barefoot we decided to go back to his house through the woods and pretend that all the sirens we heard out on the roads were the sounds of the cops chasing us, the escaped fugitives. A little imagination can go a long way too! All in all it was an awesome afternoon followed up by a nice productive meeting at church where we did some planning for our new contemporary worship service. I leave you with this: Get outside, embrace life and enjoy the world that God created… Good Luck-TFB
I have decided that every week I am going to post something that I have enjoyed listening to for the past seven days: For This past week there is no question that this incredible honor will go to…… The Title.
Specifically for there album “Making A Scene”. It is positively fantastic; I describe it as the perfect child of Maybeshewill, Owl City and A hint of Hellogoodbye. Take all of this fantastic music and throw in some sick half-time drum beats and you get The Title.
I also thought I would fill you in on what has been tallying up in the play count column on iTunes for about the past month so here’s a list of my most recent indulgences:
1. Owl City-Of June, Maybe I’m Dreaming
2. Dashboard Confessional-The Swiss Army Romance
3. Coldplay-All
4. David Crowder Band-Illuminate
5. Jack’s Mannequin-The Glass Passenger
Stay tuned for next week’s “Artist Of The Week”!!!!
Here are just a few things that I thought you might want to know if you are going to read these:
First off, I am finishing up my junior year of high school in a gloomy ohio suburb. I’m about 17 years old. I feel like I am wasting a lot of time sitting still and not talking for seven hours a day, but hey I’m just one guy. I guess it works for some people, lol. Or atleast they are better actors than me.
It is this combined with my desire to do something beyond myself and with a real purpose to live up to the hopes of my Lord and Savior that I am graduation from high school next January as opposed to June and I am going to live in Liberia ( http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Liberia&ie=UTF8&z=7 ) for 6 months to do mission work. I plan on leaving on January 26, 2010 and returning sometime in late July.
I spent about the last hour and a half filling out an application to head over there with a group through my church. This is something that I feel very passionate about and am very excited about. I will keep you updated… Good Luck-TFB
Hello, and welcome to my portion of the internet:
So last Wednesday was probably one the most enjoyable days of my life. Right after school (approx. 2:30) two comrades and I went on a magical mystery tour along the coast of the great Lake Erie. We began by heading to a Chik-Fil-A restaurant to redeem a free milkshake token (yay for local fast food promotions in the school place). I also indulged in a juicy chicken breast and THREE pickles (that’s right I got an extra one) between two lovely buns. We proceeded to partake in the food outside on the patio. You will quickly learn the the outdoors is/are my sanctuary and am out of doors whenever possible. Anywho, the remainder of the evening was spent going to all of the beaches/parks along the Erie shores we could find and just chillaxin on the beach. After a 6 hour trip around the coast I stopped by my friends house with my computer to record a song that I wrote for one of his videos. He makes videos and I make music. This event marked the first of our hopefully many future collaborations. (unless you count my oh so wonderful attempts at acting in his prior productions. Anyway this was an awesome day and how I intend to spend many in my lifetime once I don’t have any pesky undeserving daytime commitments… Oh yeah, I’ve got some bones to pick with the American education system… but that is for another day. Good luck-TFB
